Material strategy

The deck sits inside the structure.

Instead of laying a sheet over a hidden frame, this build makes the frame part of the face. Fir stock forms a visible perimeter around each birch deck, creating a crisp material break and a sturdy edge.

Fabrication

One repeatable assembly, four times.

The parts move from cut stock to clamped perimeter frames, fitted birch decks, drilled targets, and hardware-ready assemblies.

Finish + identity

A temporary booth, a lasting surface.

The four boards were finished together in a plastic-lined garage bay, then given matching red emblems before their first games.

The result is four coordinated boards with the birch, fir, hardware, and graphic treatment all visible—rugged enough for the lawn, finished enough to bring back inside.
